Open Text Eloquent Media Server is an enterprise level content managements system that can be used to deliver various types of content over the internet. It is not a true web conferencing system, but can be used for a similar purpose as a webcasting service. The system can be deployed on your own infrastructure to allow you to distribute content and manage how it is delivered and used.
This service acts as a web-based central management tool for delivering electronic content in order to quickly and efficiently share knowledge. One of its main uses is as a training tool to deliver material that employees can go through in their own time and learn about new systems or processes. A trainer can create material using a variety of different content types, such as Word documents, PowerPoint presentations or recorded video, which can then be uploaded to the system so that employees can access it. The software can also be used to record a video of your desktop in order to demonstrate the use of new applications or tools.
One of the most useful features for managers and trainers is the ability to see at a glance how well the training material is being used. The web based management tools provide a dashboard which instantly shows you graphs and statistics about how the content has been delivered and any results from polls or surveys that have been uploaded. It is also possible to run more detailed custom reports to analyse the usage and interpret how well staff have understood the training materials. This makes it a very useful tool for delivering presentation and training, and to receive feedback on your performance and effect.
The Eloquent Media Server integrates with other products by Open Text so that content can be shared between different applications. It can also be used in conjunction with existing corporate systems, including Livelink ECM, Enterprise Server and WebEx, to access content stored in existing solutions, so it’s relatively flexible across systems and devices.
Open Text Eloquent Media Server is a useful application in the right situation, but isn't a web conferencing solution like most other products in this category. However, it can be used for a similar purpose as it is possible to combine different types of content to present material over the internet.
