Instant Presenter is an easy to use online web conferencing tool. A monthly fee buys you support for a set number of users and an unlimited number of conferences. Extra users can be added on a per minute basis so that you can hold events for up to 1000 participants (prices provided on request). The service is pretty reliable and the user interface is very easy to use.
The features available on Instant Presenter depend on the number of users you choose to go for. However, even the cheapest version offers screen sharing and PowerPoint sharing. All packages include extra features such as high quality video, logo branding and different user interfaces, however the “share screen” function is only available to conferences hosting up to 200 attendees. If you plan on holding larger conferences where screen sharing is a necessity then you’ll have to look elsewhere. The main functionality works very well and it is easy to share your desktop with participants of the meeting. However, you can't control other people's desktops as you can with some similar applications.
All forms of communication are well catered for with Instant Presenter. The main application supports VOIP so that participants can communicate using microphones attached to their computers. It is also possible for multiple participants to broadcast from their webcams at once. If you need to have someone join who is not in front of a computer, Instant Presenter also provides an extra audio conferencing facility using a toll number. A toll free number can be provided with a package upgrade.
The reliability of Instant Presenter was very good in our tests. Even when broadcasting with the full amount of webcams at once the service seemed to run smoothly. One slight drawback with the service is that there is no mention of any security features. While many of these types of services encrypt the communications during a meeting, it would seem Instant Presenter has overlooked this. However, this shouldn't be too much of a problem if you don't plan on discussing very sensitive topics.
In all, Instant Presenter is a fairly good service. The prices are on par with other services for the amount of features it provides, but it is a shame there is no option for screen sharing on larger conferences. The other slight niggle is the lack of encryption during meetings. While this won't bother many people it would surely be an easy feature to add to the service. A free trial is available to let you make your own mind up on Instant Presenter.
