Editor's Verdict:

WebMeetLive is a web conferencing provider offering a fairly average service with flexible price plans. You can pay for as many users as you require on either a monthly basis or as a one off event and corporate solutions are also available. The service is best for delivering presentations over the web rather than hosting fully interactive conferences, but both applications are possible.

The interface WebMeetLive provides is fairly basic, with one side of the screen dedicated to showing a web page or presentation file and the other video broadcasts with controls. During a conference presenters can use PowerPoint files to aid in their presentations and also take participants on web tours using the synchronized web browsing features. Screen sharing is available on certain plans, but it is not very clear exactly which plans and the small print recommends a very good internet connection. Unlike many services, WebMeetLive does not allow you to control other users' computers during a conference, which may put some people off.

All of WebMeetLive's plans support VOIP for communication during a meeting and the same facilities can be used to record a presentation for a webcast. Presenters can also broadcast from their webcams, but the documentation does not make it clear how many simultaneous broadcasts are supported. Text chat facilities are also available in all meetings and the admin panel provides a searchable log of any text conversations.

WebMeetLive provides a reasonably reliable service, but does not seem to provide any security on meeting communications. While this is fine for casual meetings, many businesses would expect encryption on the content of their meetings. However, it is possible to password protect meeting rooms so that unwanted guests cannot enter.

WebMeetLive also provide solutions for corporate clients which it hosts and allows your IT staff to manage. Different plans are available which allow different amounts of users and rooms depending on your requirements. On these plans extra phone support for your employees can be purchased, but support is provided for free to the primary IT contact.

While it is not a bad service, WebMeetLive misses out a few features which could make it a lot better. The interface and supporting website are not brilliantly designed and don't answer a lot of questions new customers might have. For a similar price it is possible to get a much better service, in our opinion. For some good choices have a look at the products in our top ten.
