OMNOVIA IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. I decided to try Omnovia as my webinar platform and was particularly interested in it because of its advertised video conferencing capability--which touts it as unlimited video guests. I spoke with a pleasant sales manager and described my need to have both webinar trainings and video conferences with as many 2-15 video participants. He assured me that Omnovia was the way to go and would satisfy my needs. He also explained the advantages and cost savings of a year long subscription. I was sold and gave him my credit card for a 25 person room which cost about $2,000. The day I purchased subscription was as good as it got.
The first problems began with their VOIP audio which has terrible looping/echo problems. When I encountered the problem, I contacted the sales manager who sold me the subscription and told him of the problem. His response was that this is a problem regardless of what service you use (despite the fact that I had never had the problem with Skype or GotoMeetings) and that the solution was merely to equip everyone with headset microphones which wasn't an option financially. I finally was left with having to explore the use of a for pay phone bridge that he offered as a solution.
Then came the video problems. I wanted to start practicing with video conferences and had some questions about how to present all of the video screens in an easy to see format. I again contacted my sales manager, who then proceeded to tell me that he would never recommend any more than three video participations in a given meeting due to bandwidth restrictions. I pointed out Omnovia's advertising, to which he again reiterated that it was limited because of bandwidth.
After having the service for approximately two months I decided that it simply could not meet my organization's needs. I tried to get ahold of my sales manager to terminate the account but was unable to do so and ultimately terminted it online. I contacted the sales manager about getting the remainder of my money back for the months that I had not used, understanding that it would be reasonable to not receive the benefit of a year subscription and expecting that I would be refunded an amount that was in accord with the rate for those subscribers who choose month to month. At the end of December of 2010 I sent the sales manager an e-mail notifying him of the termination and my request for a refund. I received an e-mail over a week later that said there was no refunds in "this type of situation," but that he would work on the situation with his management team. Since that time I have tried to contact him and have received only e-mails that he will get in touch. In the meantime, I reviewed the terms and conditions which aren't presented when you subscribe but can be found on the website. The last provision states: 12.REFUND. omNovia is a pre-paid service. Therefore, we or any of our affiliates or suppliers will not refund any setup or pre-paid subscription fees upon early termination of any subscribed services.

So I doled out almost $2,000 for a service that did not perform as advertised and was subpar compared to the other services I have tried. The customer service was fine until I had problems and has declined to where over six weeks after I have terminated the account, I can't get a call back. Any talk of trying to get me a refund was just appeasement and I'm sure no such conversation took place took place with the "management team."

In the meantime, I switched over to Nefsis - www.nefis.com -- a far superior service.

In summary, I would not recommend OmNovia to a friend.
